Rotarians understand the importance of our community’s youth.

Each year the Rotary Club of Lexington selects several local high school students to be designated a Rotary Student of the Month.  The Student of the Month program recognizes outstanding students attending either Gilbert High School, Lexington High School, Lexington Technology Center, River Bluff High School, or White Knoll High School. For the 2025-2026 school year, juniors and seniors attending these high schools are eligible for this recognition and are selected by their school’s administration based upon their:

  • Academic Standing
  • Extra-curricular Activities
  • Community Involvement
  • Leadership and Service to Others
  • Character

A student chosen as a Student of the Month will then attend one Rotary Club of Lexington meeting during the month for which he or she is selected.  Students of the month are introduced to the club and then are invited to deliver prepared remarks for up to three minutes to the club.  Usually these remarks are about his or her key school and community accomplishments and higher education plans, and also include comments about hobbies, activities, family, and thoughts about Rotary. Each Student of the Month is presented a certificate commemorating the honor.
